N.J. design firm moves to Hudson farm
New Jersey design company Pamela Bayer Interiors has set up shop in a converted barn and horse stable in Hudson.
Ms. Bayer has worked out of a studio in New Jersey for the past 15 years, but she recently moved to Northeast Ohio to be with her husband who took a job in the area, she said.
Ms. Bayer's company will focus on consumer, corporate and industrial interior design. The New Jersey studio will remain open, with oversight from a local project manager, she said.
Ms. Bayer said she and her husband have spent the last year gutting the barn, which will serve as their home, and a nearby stable, which will house her office and showroom.
"I've always had a fascination with barns since I was very young," she said.
After spending most of her life in the New York-New Jersey area, one thing about Northeast Ohio has become abundantly clear to Ms. Bayer.
"In Hudson you get much more for your dollar," she said.
