Interior designers selected for ShowHouse 

WEST AKRON - The Junior League of Akron has announced the local designers participating in the Designer ShowHouse 2006, which this year will focus on three buildings - Perkins Stone Mansion, John Brown House and Wash House, on the Summit County Historical Society properties located on the corner of Copley Road and South Portage Path.

"We are very excited with the high level of talent and creativity shown in all the proposals," said Ann Wehener, ShowHouse 2006 co-chairperson. "The transformation of these homes blending the old with the new will be fabulous."

The selected designers include:

  • From Akron: Jennifer McCool, of Jennifer McCool Interior Design; Deanna Carleton and Barbara Dillick, of Kitchen Design Group; Jennifer Miner and Laura Petit, of La Maison Accessories & Interior Design; Erin Sternefeld, of Reeder Architects; and Soraya Tabet and Erin Clark, of Soraya;
  • From Bath: Michelle Bailey and Michelle Falcone, of Artistic Creations & Design Studio; and Jeff Andrew, Gillian Andrew-Stupar and Constance Rittmaier, of Garth Andrew's Associates Inc.;
  • From Canton: Robin Brechbuhler, of Brechbuhler Interior Designs Ltd.; and Irene Karavas, of Karavas Interiors;
  • From Cuyahoga Falls: Jim Pesce, of James Pesce Designs;
  • From Fairlawn: Sherry Ohlin and Annie Becker, of WestSide Interior Design; and Joel Wolfgang, of Joel R. Wolfgang Interior Design;
  • From Green: John Antro, of John C. Antro Interiors;
  • From Hudson: Pamela Bayer, of Pamela Bayer Interiors; and Katherine Harmon, of Bella Abode;
  • From Jackson: Karen Fehlman, of Karen Fehlman Interior Design; and Joan Reusser, of Joan Reusser Interior Design;
  • From Medina: Jon-Michael Astin, Rita Muckensturm and Michelle Bortolotto, of Astin/Muckensturm Interiors; and Amy Douglas and Katie Heinz, of Interior Design Studio;
  • From Peninsula: Lynne Dowling and Libby Upton, of Yellow Creek Trading Co.;
  • From Sharon Center: Lynn Best, of Stauffer's Home Furnishings; and
  • From Tallmadge: Mari Reisman and Becky Gustavel, of Western Reserve Decorator Fabrics.

Pamela Bayer selected the Wash House to exercise the range of her
creative talents by conceiving a home within a home. Bayer opted for a contemporary theme with Asian influences. A fully functional vanity
kitchen, cozy sitting area with fireplace and luscious bedroom
highlight the finest features of this dwelling.
