Pamela Bayer of Pamela Bayer Interiors on

Barlow Hills Drive is ready to introduce
Hudsonites to a variety of home furnishing styles.
Pamela Bayer Interiors is an interior design
business on Barlow Hills Drive, which recently moved from New Jersey to Hudson.
Bayer started her interior design business in 1994 in Tenafly, N.J. She also has been a general contractor for the last 15 years.
She specializes in consumer, corporate and industrial interior design and general contracting projects.
Bayer said she feels that having a variety of interior design styles and listening to client's needs "makes for being a good interior designer."
In July, Bayer and her husband, Ralph O'Connor, moved to Hudson and began renovating a 1900s barn into their home. A three-horse stable on the 2.3-acre property houses her office and showroom.
"I've been infatuated with barns my whole life. Ralph saw (the barn as) a disaster. I saw it as the Taj Mahal," she said, adding that the barn had been neglected for ten years and needed a lot of work.
Bayer said she has never been a resident in a small-town community, but is looking forward to "being a part of this community."
Bayer has clients in New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Connecticut and Florida. She has designed large homes and vacation retreats on the Atlantic; high-rise apartments; condos and offices in New York City; historical suburban houses and a restaurant.
Bayer, who grew up in New Jersey, was introduced to the design world when she began working at Saks Fifth Avenue and later at Ralph Lauren in its home furnishings division.
In 1987, she received her interior design degree from Ramato Community College in New Jersey and then began working for interior designer Lori Duzoglou.
"I truly believe there is a correlation between fashion and home furnishing," Bayer said.
Pamela Bayer Interiors will open for business following a private open house Sept. 22.
