When it comes to holiday party etiquette, there are the usual things to consider: what to wear, how to celebrate responsibly, and whether to line dance (if you must) with your shoes on or off.
But long after guests have departed, your hosts may remember you as much for your gift giving as your karaoke performance. To avoid two potential embarrassments on the same evening, watch Pamela's November 23 interview on WKYC-TV 3's Good Company for ideas on thoughtful but inexpensive hostess gifts for the holidays.
With the fruitcake era safely behind us, the doors are open to more creative presents that event organizers can actually appreciate and use. And if you give it a little forethought, you won't find yourself scrambling to regift something from the land of misfit party favors.
With special thanks to some of her favorite Hudson retailers, Pamela featured universal hostess gift ideas from Starbucks, The Western Reserve School of Cooking and Simply Swank. She also presented affordable, unique concepts from Precocious Dandelion in Bath, Ohio.
Pamela appears on Good Company monthly as the show's interior design and lifestyle expert. In a weeklong series beginning December 10, she'll reveal her apartment makeover for program co-host Andrea Vecchio.

Looking for great holiday hostess gifts under $15? Consider Starbucks coffee, coffee mugs, biscotti packs or tea selections. From The Western Reserve School of Cooking, try an oven mitt stocking, cookie cutters or cutting board made from recycled skateboards. Simply Swank offers lotions, lip glosses, lipsticks, gloves with lotion, and spa gift certificates. Check out the candles, rose lights for mirrors, ice cream scooper with decorative gems, and silk floral arrangements from Precocious Dandelion, as well as their fresh amaryllis bulbs in a decorative container, photo frames, and petite oils with bamboo sticks.
